#Connection for MDC – Pegaga (Mubadala)
|
#This site is applied CNC carrier which mean it share same CF frequency
#Both site have redundancy modem which is A and also B , it can be access thru GUI on MINI PC installed on MDC Bintulu ( Anydesk access )
INFO: ANYDESK ACCESS ON MDC BINTULU

#If not able to access this Any desk but currently both site is ONLINE without any issue need to call MDC Bintulu PIC to check their internet connection
If doesn’t have any issue with their internet connection (ISP) mean need to check our MINI PC onsite
(PIC : Sakawi : 6011 1513 0706)
ISSUE AND STEP FOR TROUBLESHOOTING
ISSUE 1: IF customer inform there are internet connection issue from Pegaga
# Need to call PIC on Bintulu site to confirm status connection internet there
- If no connection internet on Bintulu site mean pegaga also will impact because the connection come from Bintulu site
ISSUE 2: If customer inform VSAT is offline
#Please check our monitoring on Decimator (can refer on Frequency plan for the detail)
- We can check on spectrum and identify which site is down by turn off 1 by 1 to check
- Then we can identify to troubleshoot hub or remote TX/RX chain
#Do checking with sat Ops if observe any abnormalities observe during downtime
- Do checking if got any degradation or power drop
#Access Any desk on MDC Bintulu PC and do check Modem status as per below detail :-
- Alarm on TX /RX
- BER status
- EB/NO status
- Signal level
- PSD/Power ratio < Need to check this if you are enabling to CNC
# We Can do adjustment power if require - Follow config latest Update (our main objective to have a balance in terms of power at both ends)
- Because sometime overpower carrier can also affected the eb/no on the other carrier and cause eb/no to the lower value
- IF we got status modem the max eb/no at lesser power it a good sign with the carrier
# We also can turn off One by One link to check either the slot is clean or not
Configuration >Carrier = Change to OFF
Here we know that it Clean
# If Carrier is clean and power is low then we can proceed to check the CPI
* Get the test frequency from Sat Ops and do calculation as per below to get the L-Band before proceeding
Calculation: Lband = RF – LO (either BUC or LNB)
* Please put the carrier under TX_CW to CPI
*Please make sure we start with 20 for power
*Check with sat Ops if require repointing or not if nothing issue, we can do 1 by 1
Utilities > Unit
ISSUE 3: Check BUC
# This are junction box for the BUC power,
| |
# Here we can see BUC already switch to BUC B |
ISSUE 4 : Pegaga offline MDC site okay
# Check carrier on spectrum
# May contact pegaga kuband VoIP no and ask them to check during the downtime is the modem switch to modem b
And is there any crane blockage?
0386885217 - TER - our equipment located there
0386885218 – CCR
Here we can see now it on Modem A
ISSUE 5 : Intermintent connection
- Indentify which site having issue.
- Check with Sat Ops if got any abnormalities /interference observe.
- Check Carrier either clean or not.
- Access Any desk to 1 of the sites and check current status of Modem and also do ping test to site affected.
# If Ebno on 1 of site low , mean having issue need to ask how the weather /blockage status
Pegaga Modem A - 172.16.3.10 | Bintulu modem A - 172.16.3.5 |
- Check live traffic.
6-Do ping test to Modem Pegaga site ( site have effected)
- Do try increase power by 1db -2db to and continues check ebno on affected site
#Here we do increase on MDC site because pegaga is having issue
- Check current status of Ebno if it accepted or not , can refer our ebno detail , if all ok then we can monitor and update customer to get the actual root cause.
SIDE NOTE: IF want to force failover remote
*Access modem and go to redundancy > force 1:1 switch
* Once done wait around 5 minute and monitor the link
SIDE NOTE: Not all Modem able to support bigger Data rate
- We need update the license to have a higher data rate because they only supported to 5Mbps Max
- IF license key does not update than it will cause link not working, even though we already upgrade the Data rate
STEP: Management will get the license key/fast code > We or FE will apply on the modem > upgrade the BW
Here we can see the different where Naga 8 is not update while MDC /Pegaga already update, and the BW can go up to 25Mbps
